Crossgates Methodist
Children's Center
Uniting Faith & Learning to Create Bright Futures
Welcome to Crossgates Methodist Children's Center - a place for children to grow, learn and play. The early years in a child's life are so important and lay the foundation for lifelong learning, so we work to provide them an inviting environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
Mission Statement
The congregation of Crossgates United Methodist Church believes that each child is a child of God and should have every opportunity to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, to the fullest potential. The members of this congregation believe we are called into the ministry of caring for children, showing concern for families, and providing a safe, nurturing environment that will give each child that opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential.
In response to the call of Christ to reach out in love to meet the needs of families and children, we are committed to a child care ministry based upon the principle of the Christian faith as taught by Jesus Christ.
Play-based learning promotes lifelong learning!
Outdoor Play
The Importance of Nature
Outdoor Play is not a time that learning ends... so much is learned through nature and outdoor play. Our natural playground has open-ended opportunities for fun as well as gross motor development; the children spend two hours outdoors every day while learning, playing, and growing.
Process Art
Art is not a thing;
It is a way.
Art is a process; it is not the end product. Children work with different media, sometimes with a product, sometimes not. Whether or not something goes home, our children have the opportunity daily to participate in creative art.
CMCC Afterschool
and K4SPER Kids
Brandon Schools
CMCC vans pick up daily from Rouse, StoneBridge, and Brandon Elementary. Our Afterschoolers have a snack, play outside, have homework time, and have time chill out with their friends. There's no screen time at CMCC. Afterschoolers play with board games, have fun activities, and participate in devotion daily.
K4SPER Kids is the name for our K-4 Afterschool program for K-4 children who come from Rouse Elementary.
There are a total of 12 slots.
Pre-registration is required.
Creative Christian Curriculum
Faith Based Learning for our children
CMCC is a Christian, church based ministry, so you can expect your child to learn about God's love for us daily. Teachers spend time with devotions, Bible stories, music and activities that encourage the blossoming of the Fruits of the Spirit in our young ones.
CMCC utilizes different play-based, research-proven curricula. The primary used is WEE Learn, which is a learning center based program. We supplement with the Get Set for School curriculum and have recently begun utilizing Learning Beyond Paper Early Learning program..
